FAQ’s

  • What kind of precautions are you taking during COVID-19?

We are following all recommendations set for by the CDC and governing powers that mandate health and safety orders for our industry. Beyond these recommended practices, Artiva Nails & Co. prides itself in being a nail salon run with careful attention to cleanliness and sanitation and we believe many of our practices pre-dating the pandemic giving our facility an extra “boost” in meeting and exceeding COVID-19 best practices currently in effect

  • What do you mean when you say natural nails?

Natural nails can be a somewhat confusing topic, but we consider natural beauty and natural nails to be synonymous with odorless quality that cares for the natural nail and honors and improves the integrity of the natural nail. Rather than using strong-smelling chemicals and products that place a lot of wear and tear on the natural nail, we honor your natural beauty and strive to improve your natural nail to meet your nail goals with products that strengthen and enhance.

  • What is the difference between Shellac and Gel nails?

Some may not know that CND Shellac is actually a brand name! Shellac became so synonymous with the famous manicure that it became the catch-all name for any gel-type manicure, but CND Shellac is its own very specific brand. CND Shellac is a genuine hybrid UV polish. This means its formula is similar to traditional nail polish, which means it is a thin application that looks like nail polish but has the benefits of UV gel so it dries instantly, it is extra glossy, and lasts for at least 2 weeks. We are a CND Shellac certified salon and proudly carry the brand exclusively, as it maintains the integrity of the natural nail with thin application and easy removal.

  • What kinds of products do you use at Artiva?

We use products that are well-known and respected in the professional beauty community. Artiva Nails & Co. emphasizes the use of products that are odorless and non-toxic. We handle all products with exceeding care and caution to ensure that health is a top-priority. We understand that very little in the beauty industry is ever totally chemical-free, and we certainly pride ourselves in our honesty and transparency.

We have been extremely selective and choose only those products that are well-respected and known for being the top choice for natural nails and ideal for those who may be sensitive to chemicals, fumes, perfumes, dyes, or other irritants.

We strictly avoid the use of monomers and harsh chemicals in our nail studio because our vision seeks to be innovative, trendy, and stylish without the smells and harsh products that will damage and weaken your natural nails over time.

We are mindful of the types of products and brands that we use and promote, and we consider the source and benefit of each and every product we use on our clients.

  • What is a CMP (Certified Master Pedicurist)?

A CMP, or Certified Master Pedicurist, is a special designation awarded to those who go through especially thorough and specific training that is recognized as a certification of excellence and expertise in the area of pedicure. There are fewer than ten certified CMPs in the state of Colorado.

  • Do I need to see a CMP or is any pedicurist good enough?

It depends on your specific needs and goals! A wellness pedicure cannot be performed by someone who is not certified. There are only a few in Colorado, and our very own Heather Bode is one of these amazing people! She offers a level of knowledge and expertise that allows her to more aptly navigate situations like diabetic care, geriatric pedicure, and other unusual but not abnormal things that come up in the land of pedicures from time to time.

Choosing a wellness pedicure could be the perfect thing for you if you have health concerns or are wanting a pedicure as a way to care for yourself more in-line with advice of your physician or doctor. Heather’s certification holds significant prestige in the world of nail care, but she is not a doctor. A CMP can recognize and recommend certain things, but a CMP is not a doctor and cannot administer doctor care or make an official diagnosis.

  • I am a diabetic, should I tell my nail artist?

Please let us know if you have any health concerns that could be relevant to your hands, feet, or health. This includes any health issue involving your circulation, ability to feel sensation, neuropathy, or skin sensitivities. We want to do our best in caring for you, and knowing more about your health is an important part of this!

  • I love acrylic nails! Do you offer acrylic services?

We do not offer traditional acrylic nails at Artiva & Co. We do offer alternatives that are considered safer and less damaging to your natural nails. Please check our website for more about overlays and dip-alternatives.

  • What are your thoughts on health and wellness as a salon in the 2020’s?

We believe ourselves to be a progressive, open-minded nail studio that is evolving with the world’s focus on natural products and an emphasis on environmentally friendly practices that promote health for the individual, the community, and the world. We believe our efforts to offer nail services that emphasize the natural beauty within the tradition of nail care makes us a progressive and unique niche in the nail industry.

  • What steps do you take to keep your nail studio clean and safe?

We use high-quality products that are recommended and approved by authorities that oversee the salon industry. We take great care in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our salon, and strive to have above-and-beyond methods and practice when it comes to sanitation.
